Please don’t book for parties of young people, as they will be refused access to the caravan, which can be upsetting for everyone concerned. The main hirer must be over 28 years of age.

DEPOSITS & PAYMENT

 A booking will be accepted by the caravan owners, subject to receiving the deposit within 24 hours, your booking is not secure until deposit is received.

Please note that ALL bookings are agreed once deposit is paid. (Deposits are non-refundable)

THE BALANCE OF THE HIRE CHARGE IS DUE EIGHT WEEKS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL AND WE ALSO REQUIRE A SECURITY BOND OF £150 (£100 if previous Squirrels Retreat Guest) payable 7 days before. You are responsible for remembering the date when your balance is due, if the balance is NOT received by the due date, then the caravan owners reserve the right to hire the caravan to someone else, and any monies paid by you will be lost. Bookings taken with less than EIGHT weeks remaining can only be accepted if payment is made in full and received within 1 working day.

The security bond is fully refundable at the end of the hire period and returned within 7 days of departure date once the caravan has been checked. The caravan owners reserve the right to withhold some or the entire bond and /or bill the hirer for the additional cost of: a) replacing and/or repairing all damage b) all breakages c) removing stains or replacing as new. 

ALL BREAKAGES, DAMAGE AND STAINS WITHIN THE CARAVAN INCLUDING GARDEN FURNITURE AND ITEMS IN THE GARDEN AREA MUST BE PAID FOR BY THE HIRER .

CANCELLATIONS

If you ask to cancel your holiday after you have paid your remaining balance you will lose all money paid (except security bond ).

We may consider a partial refund at our discretion if you have a reasonable excuse and can provide evidence i.e medical note etc why you can not attend.

Holiday bookings are NOT transferable, and you MUST NOT re-sell your week you have booked. All bookings must come through us.

 IT IS THE HIRERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THEY HAVE TAKEN OUT TRAVEL INSURANCE TO COVER THEM FOR CANCELLATION/LOSS ETC.

 No refund will be made to the hirer whose hiring has commenced and who vacates the caravan for any reason including any emergency on or off the park.

 

UPON COMMENCEMENT OF HIRE

Our caravan is 3 bed roomed but for our guests comfort we only accept bookings for a maximum of 4 people. Only those people who's names are listed on the booking forms may stay in the caravan, we take over occupancy seriously. We are in contact with other owners on site and also park staff, and if we are informed there as been a breach of our terms and conditions you will be asked to leave. 

 You must also not arrange for or allow any visitors to the holiday caravan without the prior agreement of the Owner.

The holiday caravan may be occupied from 4pm on wards on the first day of hiring. We are unable to offer an earlier arrival time.

 In the case of a maintenance problem, the hirer shall contact the caravan owner and allow a reasonable amount of time for the problem to be rectified. 

D.I.Y repairs must NOT be attempted. If the hirer does any D.I.Y repairs, then bonds may be refused

 Smoking or vaping is NOT permitted in the caravan any sign of smoking/vaping will mean the loss of your bond.

Please treat the caravan with respect and do not allow children to climb or jump on the beds or furniture, any damage will have to be paid for.

THE GARDEN 

We have designed the garden area as a place to relax and to also encourage wildlife. We hope our guests who stay will enjoy the garden but we do ask those staying with children to not allow them to play games in the garden due to plants and garden ornaments getting broken or damaged, and please stick to the pebbled paths at all times. Damaged garden items would need to be replaced at the cost to the hirer. There is a large green area just a few minutes walk from the caravan that's ideal for ball games etc and also a play area next to the restaurant. The wooden swing bench and Egg chair are not to be used like a child's swing, any damage caused by mis-use will need to be paid for. The decking is cleaned on a regular basis but please be aware during wet weather it may get a little slippy so please take care and ask children not to run or climb, we accept no liability for accidents. 

ON NO ACCOUNT ARE PADDLING POOLS/ HOT TUBS OR SANDPITS TO BE PLACED ON THE DECKING. The decking is not built to take that sort of weight.  IF WE ARE INFORMED BY ANOTHER OWNER OR PARK STAFF YOU HAVE IGNORED THESE RULES YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. This rule is not only for your own safety but also the decking would be very expensive to repair or replace should it get damaged, of which you would be responsible for. 

FIREPITS AND BARBECUES ARE NOT PERMITTED. Due to being in a woodland setting we consider it too much of a risk to allow Barbecues or firepits at Squirrels Retreat.

PLEASE NOTE: During hot dry weather we may ask a friend or neighbour to visit to water the plants in the garden, we will try to plan this visit while you are out so not to disturb you.

 DEPARTURE:  The caravan MUST be vacated by 10am on the last day of hiring,  The caravan must be left in the same clean and tidy condition you found it on your arrival, all dishes are to be washed and put away and any waste is to be removed from caravan, we supply a good selection of cleaning products/ bin bags, mop/bucket and hoover etc, so please be respectful and leave it like you found it. Inspection will be made once the caravan is vacated.

When vacating the caravan please make sure windows are shut and ALL doors are locked and no heating or lights have been left on.

Should any of the keys be lost during your stay you will be incur a charge to replace the keys and  if it was felt necessary, you could even be liable for the cost to replace the locks.

Holiday park/caravan owners and their staff do not accept liability for any loss or damage to the hirer’s property and/ or accidents, injuries, illness, diseases, arising from the hire of the caravan or use of the holiday park, including acts of god or extreme weather conditions.

SECURITY BOND

Your security bond will be returned to you within 7 days after the end of your holiday once we have been in and checked the caravan. You may lose some or all of your security bond if there has been a breach of the conditions by any guests, such as, but not limited to: additional guests staying, that are not on booking form, or any guests visiting without our consent. Any damage to the caravan or the  contents, theft of contents, also includes any damage to items in the garden area, breach of security i.e if doors are left unlocked) etc, improper use of equipment, unreasonable behaviour i.e noise disturbance at unreasonable hours and causing a nuisance to neighbours, not leaving the caravan clean and tidy or leaving after the agreed time.

BED LINEN/TOWELS ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY PROVIDED. You can request a linen pack at extra cost of £25.

PLEASE NOTE: We advertise our caravan as NO PETS ALLOWED, but please be aware we do on the odd occasion allow our own dog in the caravan and although it's thoroughly cleaned between hire it may not be suitable for allergy sufferers.
